sense of course it's worrisome but the world is waiting for barack obama in his second term to define where the peace process goes but because without a powerful intervention by an american president there's not going to be a return to the table without obama pressure on the netanyahu government to return to the table and a new you know more centrist government if he includes the parties of the center left that. that did well in this election there's not going to be a return to the peace table so i think barack obama has a lot on his plate on his own domestic economic issues but if he gets them sorted out as we may see him come back to this issue that for him is a matter of idealism i don't think we should decide how well i don't know in politics i mean how can i say that i mean not whining about it when the state department says settlement growth is unfortunate unfortunate and helpful what kind of language is that what kind of language is that that's what's called a spoiler plate and it's been. it's been the state department position for a long time ok benign it is not strong enough

i read last night that president obama issued to that. i think it is important. with respect to afghanistan, the administration has made it clear -- the commitment that if there is in negotiation with the taliban, one of the conditions is they have to give up any association with al qaeda. with respect to this issue, they must commit to respect the constitution of afghanistan and the current status of women and girls within their society. >> you have been a supporter of the convention to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women. it is a tough issue. i want to make sure you continue to support the ratification. >> the answer is yes. i look forward to meeting with the committee probably so we can talk about treaties and america's interest. >> i think there could be some reservation that we could agree on that would resolve some of the underlying current of this agreement. we should move forward on that. last question is about the keystone xl pipeline. how would you ensure any decision takes into consideration the potential impact on water and air quality

president obama will place to the nation his own ideas during a visit to las vegas tomorrow. with bipartisan support billing in both houses of congress and a president who is eager to solve this issue, there is no reason we should not pass comprehensive immigration reform immediately. it will be good for our economy and good for families. successful immigration reform cannot be piecemeal and it must include a path to citizenship for 11 million undocumented individuals in our country. legislation must craft a comprehensive solution that among other things continues to secure our borders, punishes unscrupulous employers who deploy immigrants. they have to learn english, work, pay taxes, stay out of trouble and then get to the back of the line; but they do obtain legal status, which is so important. the framework proposed by the bipartisan group of eight senators meets this criteria and i hope we'll soon have a bill to send through the committee process and bring to the floor for a vote. i've long said when my republican colleagues were truly ready to craft a commonsense solutio
